Trent has spent his professional career (30+ years) in adolescent counselling, residential youth care, leadership, and after-school programming for children and adolescents. He is a School Counsellor in Mount Pearl, NL., and volunteers his time with several not-for-profit and professional organizations (including Kids Eat Smart NL, Conservation Corps NL, &. Thrive’s StreetReach program).
Within his counselling practice, he utilizes humanistic strategies, is an ally to the 2SLGBTQAI+ and BIPOC communities, and espouses a trauma-informed, culturally-responsive approach to his practice. His methodologies are rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused interventions.
Trent is an advocate for children and adolescents and is a believer in community justice, mental well-being, integrity-based leadership, and the power of relationships.
In his spare time, Trent enjoys family activities, collecting vinyl & books, recreational hockey, and volunteering.
